Karl started his music career as a composer/drummer with the much hyped underground Parisian rock band Tanger. The band was mentored by Larry Debay who managed Nico from the Velvet Underground and was swiftly signed to Mercury Records. The band played festivals with David Bowie amongst others. Karl took his first drum lessons from Paris resident, Free Jazz pioneer and Black Panther Sunny Murray.
